Questions about what it looks like to get started in counseling comes up often so I wanted to offer a brief explanation of how that process looks with me.
First, you’re able to schedule an initial consultation phone call (at no charge) for us to begin discussing working together. To do so, you’ll start at the client portal and select “I’m a new client” then “initial consultation.” Next, you can select telehealth or in person–it won’t make a difference because it’ll actually be a phone call–and then choose a time that works for you. If you’re unable to find a time that works with your schedule, you’re welcome to reach out to me directly via email, voicemail, or text message to discuss other options.
During our initial consultation call, I’ll answer specific questions you have about working together and can share more about the logistics–availability, scheduling, fees, paperwork, etc.
Once we decide it would be a good fit for us to work together, we can schedule your first appointment for either an in-person or Telehealth session. Prior to that appointment, you will receive an email confirmation with a link to complete the intake documents. There’s a lot of paperwork on the front end–as you might expect from any healthcare provider–which is usually easier to complete on a laptop or desktop computer rather than a mobile device.
